Marion Residence
An extensive renovation
transformed an ordinary house into a gem, including an outdoor entertainment
area with an extensive deck, patios, hot tub and fire pit. The new landscape, built ‘from scratch’
includes a ‘public’ front yard space, complete with attractive concrete paved
driveway and two rustic irregular bluestone paths, one curved and one straight,
leading around two sides of the house to the gathering space in the very
private back garden of the house. French
doors connect the Ipe deck to the kitchen and living room. Grilling and outdoor dining are just steps
from the kitchen. A thickly wooded area
forms the southern edge of this space.
The garden is populated with Yew, Hydrangea, Peonies, Hayscented Fern,
Solomon’s Seal, Hardy Geranium, Royal Star Magnolia, Japanese Stewartia,
Astilbe, Boxwood, Clumping Bamboo, and Japanese Forest Grass.
